The Fairmont Opera House is requesting a donation that may be entirely tax-deductible to help defray costs for day-to-day operating expenses. For over a century, this beautiful space has been attended by many in the area to enjoy arts and community events.
Unlike most performing arts centers in the state, which are owned and operated by the city government in which they reside, the Fairmont Opera House is a separate, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization with limited funds. It is community-minded people such as yourselves that assist in keeping the doors open for both the entertainment and enlightenment of the community.
Recently, there have been some significant improvements made for our patrons’ experiences. For example, all the amplifiers in the sound system have been replaced, six new LED stage lights have been installed, door stops installed, weather stripping added, a television in the Footlight Lounge was installed, and the stage load-in door was repaired. In addition to these tasks, there is a great deal that must be done on a regular basis to keep this historic treasure in good repair. Please consider making a donation to preserve one of the few buildings in the area that is listed on the National Register of Historic places and Explore Minnesota listed as one of the top ten places to visit in Southern Minnesota!
